This article has been updated for an upcoming build of the game and information may not be accurate. This template will be removed when the version it references is released. See Changelog/Upcoming Patch Notes for more information. |
Parasect (Japanese: パラセクト Parasect) is a dual-type Bug- and Grass-Type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It has an Altaran Regional Variant that is Poison- and Bug-Type.
Regardless of form, it evolves from Paras starting at level 24. However, Altaran Parasect can also evolve from Paras when the player finishes any battle with a dead Paras in the party.

Parasect are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients. When an infested tree dies, they move onto another tree all at once. |
Altaran Parasect |
The husk of Parasect shambles around, mindless and only serving to spread spores. It does not react properly to its environment, and prefers places that are damp and dark. |

Trivia
- Altaran Parasect is based on toxic and hallucinogenic mushrooms, particularly the death cap, psilocybin, and destroying angel.
- Unlike most following Pokémon which at most react to their surroundings in a few maps, Altaran Parasect has fully unique follower text.
