Story: Come to My Lab is the first Story Quest of the game. It is followed immediately by Story: Go to the Clearing. In this quest, the player is told to travel through Route 1 to Shardil Town.
When the player attempts to exit Granite Town, they are stopped by the rival (Mary or Jordan) and the two encounter Looker disguised as a tree in the middle of the road. After a conversation with Looker, they continue down Route 1 and enter Shardil Town.
Upon reaching the lab, the player and rival meet Rhodie and Professor Spruce. The Professor provides all three with their starter Pokémon: Eevee, Mienfoo, and Solosis. The rival will always choose the option weak against the player's, while Rhodie will choose the one strong against the player's.
Sprite | Pokémon | Level | Type | Ability | Moves |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Eevee | 5 | Normal | Run Away | Growl Tackle Tail Whip Sand Attack | |
Mienfoo | 5 | Fighting | Inner Focus | Pound Meditate | |
Solosis | 5 | Psychic | Magic Guard | Psywave Reflect |
After receiving the starters, the group is interrupted by the arrival of Petra. Petra offers some exposition in the form of a conversation with Spruce, then goes to use the PC. The Professor then gives the group their PokéBits, explains their functions, and Petra gives each character PokéBalls to start them off.
