Field Effects are effects in battle typically determined by the player's location. In most cases, these effects are determined during the start of the battle. With a few exceptions, field effects cannot be negated nor altered.
Contents
Ancient Ruins
- Areas of Availability: Jadit Ruins interior
- Active Quote: "A sacred reverence permeates the air."
- Effects:
- Psychic types are no longer weak to Normal
- Normal no longer resists Psychic
- Psychic and Rock attacks gain a 1.25x buff in power
- Hidden Power and Hidden Force double in power.
Black Market
- Areas of Availability: Ironis Black Market (only during trainer battles)
- Active Quote: "The crowd watches with bloodthirst."
- Effects:
- Critical hits act as if under Sniper.
- The accuracy of OHKO moves is upped to 50%.
The battle against Zoltan in Ironis Black Market has a variation of this field effect where the increases to critical hit damage and accuracy apply only to the opponent.
Burning Forest
- Areas of Availability: Charred Pathway
- Active Quote: "The forest is blazing!"
- Effects:
- Battle begins with Smoky weather
- Fire attacks gain a 1.25x buff in power
- Fire Blast and Inferno always hit
Cavernous
- Areas of Availability: Ironis Tunnel
- Active Quote: "The sound of your battle echoes through the tunnel."
- Effects:
- Sound-based attacks do double damage
- Earthquake, Magnitude, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, and Rock Throw gain a 1.5x boost in power.
- These attacks may trigger a cave-in and hurt the user for half damage
- Electric and light-based attacks have a 10% chance to lower the target's Accuracy by 1 (additional) stage
Condemned
- Areas of Availability: Condemned Building 1, Condemned Building 2, Citrivale Lighthouse
- Active Quote: "The building could collapse any day now."
- Effects:
- Dig, Drill Run, Bulldoze, and Magnitude (4-7) cause debris to hit all Pokémon for 10% max HP damage
- Magnitude (8+), Rock Slide, and Earthquake cause debris to hit all Pokémon for 25% max HP damage.
Forest
- Areas of Availability: Peridot Forest, Jadit Ruins exterior
- Active Quote: "Light is shining through the canopy."
- Effects:
- Moonlight and Morning Sun heal by 75%
- Grass- and Bug-Type moves have a 1.25x buff in power
- Solar Beam and Solar Blade do not need to charge
Oil Spill
- Areas of Availability: Rubina City Gym
- Active Quote: "Oil coats the floor."
- Effects:
- Oil Spill is activated at the start of the battle.
- A Burning Oil Spill in this field effect lasts until the end of the battle.
- Oil Spill is activated at the start of the battle.
Power Outage
- Areas of Availability: Citrivale City Gym (only during the player's first battle with Dynamo)
- Active Quote: "The emergency lights give a soft hum."
- Effects:
- Electric and light-based attacks have a 10% chance to lower the target's Accuracy by 1 (additional) stage
- Flash becomes sure-hit, even in the semi-invulnerable stages of Fly, Dig, etc
- Electric attacks gain a 1.25x boost in power.
- Field Reaction: Dispels upon Discharge or Thunder hitting but not knocking out an opponent.
