Gyarados (Japanese: ギャラドス Gyarados) is a dual-type Water- and Flying-Type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It has an Altaran Regional Variant that is Water- and Dragon-Type.
Kantonian Gyarados evolves from Kantonian Magikarp starting at level 20, while Altaran Gyarados evolves from Altaran Magikarp starting at level 30, and is the final form of Magikarp. Kantonian Gyarados can Mega Evolve into Mega Gyarados using the Gyaradosite, while Altaran Gyarados can Mega Evolve into Mega Gyarados S using the Gyaradosite S.
Altaran Gyarados and Mega Gyarados S were designed and sprited by Keileon.

Dex Entries
Kantonian Gyarados |
---|
Once it begins to rampage, a Gyarados will burn everything down, even in a harsh storm. |
Kantonian Mega Gyarados |
Mega Evolution also affects its brain, leaving no other function except its destructive instinct to burn everything to cinders. |
Altaran Gyarados |
Though no more aggressive than Kantonian Gyarados, it is still dangerous enough for trainers to be cautioned when training one. It uses its whiskers to detect food and enemies in the water behind it. |
Mega Gyarados S |
Entire cities often have to be rebuilt when this Mega Evolution appears nearby. It destroys indiscriminately, not resting until it is forcibly subdued. |
