Circuit Trainers are Pokémon Trainers who actively participate in the Circuit. They are typically stronger than Trainers of most other classes, using a wide variety of Pokémon with varied movesets. They will usually challenge the player to deathmatches. Most Circuit Trainers keep their Pokémon in Ultra Balls.

While affiliated with the Circuit, they are not an organized team due to them typically competing against each other. As a result, the largest groups within the Circuit are typically small gangs of Circuit Trainers such as Team Mortis.

In most cases, Circuit Trainers will allow the player a chance to walk away rather than fight. This choice is not given on Hard Mode.
