Zoltan Lakatos is a Circuit Trainer and a recurring character/antagonist in Pokémon Sardonyx: Raised to Win. Though he is not a member of Team Mortis when introduced, between his introduction and the next time the player sees him, Zoltan joins the gang.

Zoltan hails from Toparik City on the eastern island of Altaris. He is known to be a powerful, skilled trainer and implied to be very dangerous.

Zoltan was designed and written by Keileon and drawn by DapperDelta.

Appearance

Personality

Zoltan is immediately cold but ultimately neutral to the player. It is only after being aggravated that he becomes hostile.

Zoltan has been seen to be highly defensive of his Pokémon.

In the Game

As of version 2.7.4, Zoltan appears twice, once as the target of the story quest Story: A Suspicious Person. After killing a pursuing officer during an aerial chase over Citrivale City and Route 4, Zoltan hides in a condemned building in an attempt to wait out the search efforts. However, the player is pulled into the search by Officer Kenn and finds Zoltan's hiding spot.

From here, Zoltan gives the player a dire warning and two chances to leave him alone. If the player persists, Zoltan challenges them to a forced loss deathmatch as a more direct warning. If the player has selected Hard Mode, they are not given the option to back out. Regardless of whether the player leaves Zoltan alone or insists on battling, Officer Kenn arrives and is about to attempt arrest before Zemith and his Haunter arrive and knock both the player and Kenn out.

Once the player leaves Amaris City, Jetstream's shadow can be seen passing quickly overhead the player and their group. This ultimately results in the player, Acento, and Petra entering the Ironis Black Market and overhearing Zoltan speaking with Team Mortis. After being discovered and having a short confrontation, the player battles Zoltan again, this time facing off against Jetstream. After the player wins, the group is allowed to leave; once Team Mortis is alone, Divide arrives and takes Jetstream from Zoltan for training.

Pokémon

Zoltan is known to own the following Pokémon:

  • A male Absol named Renegade, usually kept out of his Poké Ball. Renegade was Zoltan's first Pokémon, having been wild before the two joined together.
  • A male Haxorus named Volos, received as an Axew from Professor Spruce.
  • A shiny Latios named Jetstream. Jetstream is known to be very young and less receptive to working with Zoltan than his other Pokémon.
  • A Hydreigon, nickname unknown. Mentioned briefly in a cutscene.
  • An Archeops, nickname unknown. Mentioned briefly in a cutscene.

He appears to prefer training Dark- and Dragon-Type Pokémon.
