The following list of bugs is accurate to the Patch 2.1 2018-8-23 release. Please see the Changelog for past glitches that have been fixed.

System

  • For some people, switching save files may cause the game to crash.
  • Saving may occasionally save the game in the wrong slot. (Backup your saves!)
  • The game may rarely crash, freeze, or stall, particularly when on the randomizer mode or starting a battle. The cause is unknown.
  • EVO Day may crash the game if spoken to after the Tempest event.
  • Gift Pokémon may rarely crash the game if sent to the PC instead of keeping them in the party.

Gameplay

Lag and Framerate

  • The faster the game speed is set, the longer certain things such as evolution and dialogue pauses take.
  • Radio/Jukebox creates significant lag.

Following Pokémon

  • During a pause in dialogue, such as a cutscene, if the player is facing their following Pokémon and mashes the interaction button the cutscene will be interrupted by Following Pokémon dialogue.
    • This happens even during the Kaden scene and healing at a Pokémon Center, where the Pokémon has been forcibly recalled.
  • NPCs are able to walk through following Pokémon.
  • The game attempts to send out the following Pokémon with both animation and sound effect whenever entering a new map (including buildings) regardless of whether the Pokémon is fainted or not.
  • Occasionally if a following Pokémon is of a species with multiple forms, their graphic will revert to their default form. Entering new maps or switching Pokémon should reset it to its proper form.

Movement

  • Several areas of Amaris can be walked through when they shouldn't be.
  • Player may become stuck on certain staircase tiles (one known on Route 4), above the door in RVs, and (after blacking out but before using a Pokémon Center) in the black space inside of the Shardil Pokémon Center.
    • Solutions:
      • Never save in these tiles.
      • In the case of the RVs, save before entering.
      • Use a Pokémon Center at least once before entering your first battle.
      • In the event that you did save on these tiles, come to Discord and give Keileon or Giga your save file.

Locations

  • Due to variable error, a house in Rubina will crash the game when entered.

Battles

  • In a wild double battle, if the player's only remaining Pokémon is the one in their second slot, they are unable to throw Poké Balls.
    • It will still incorrectly use up the item.
  • Player's turn does not end if failing to capture a Pokémon in a wild double battle.
    • Using any item on the second Pokémon's turn in this case will skip that Pokémon's turn.
  • If the player's Pokémon faints and the attacker becomes confused (such as by Thrash or Outrage) the fainted Pokémon will be able to attack for an extra turn before the game prompts a switch.
  • The battle background for Charred Pathway incorrectly displays as that for towns.

Pokémon

  • If a Pokémon in the party is poisoned and drops to 1 HP when walking, the game may rarely crash when the poison should wear off.
    • This seems not to happen for everyone and the cause is unknown. Save your game often.
  • Dead Pokémon heal in the PC, causing a whole host of other issues including the status not going away but HP being full.
  • Some Pokémon that evolve are in different EXP groups from their evolutions.
    • Manectric will go down four levels upon evolution because of this.

Audio

  • Ambient Pokémon cries often play immediately upon loading the game or exiting a battle.
  • Rarely, when entering an area that changes the music, the previous track will not stop playing. This can cause crashes. Cause is unknown.

Visual

Fogs/Ambience

  • On larger screen sizes, tiles on a higher layer have a thin line separating them from lower-layer tiles.
  • On some screen sizes, the light in Citrivale Gym is not centered on the player.
  • The light in Citrivale Gym resets when exiting a battle with a trainer (though pressing a switch puts it to the correct size)

Text

  • Text during battle may randomly shrink.
  • There may be random line breaks in dialogue. (please inform us of places you see this, with screenshots)

Tiles

  • Most shadows on tiles are too light.
  • The player's reflection may display on objects such as trees if the player is standing on a puddle.

PBS

Events

Cutscenes

  • A phone call in Rubina's Police Station repeatedly fires.
  • Characters may occasionally refer to the player as PN, /PN, Jordan, or Mary.

Trainers

NPCs

  • Many NPCs in the Amaris area, as well as signs on Routes 5 and 6, have no text assigned.
  • All Pokémon in a specific house in Amaris will crash the game if spoken to.
  • Margot is not set to stop giving the player infinite Destiny Knots and TM Attracts.
