Sidequest: The Bee in the Tree is one of the sidequests of the game. It is a relatively short quest, and is available as soon as the player is able to fully access Route 3.
Completing the Sidequest
This sidequest is obtained from Bug Catcher Jim in the southern part of Route 3. He'll point to a tree with a hole to the east of him, claiming to have seen an interesting Pokémon inside of it.
This sidequest is completed upon encountering a Altaran Beedrill by checking this tree. This may require checking the tree multiple times in order to do so.
However, since Bug Catcher Jim is an optional trainer, it is possible to immediately complete this sidequest upon receiving it. This requires the player to encounter Beedrill in the tree before defeating Jim.
