Charizard (Japanese: リザードン Lizardon) is a dual-type Fire- and Flying-Type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It has an Altaran Regional Variant that is Fire- and Dragon-Type.
It evolves from Charmeleon starting at level 36. It is the final form of Charmander. Kantonian Charizard can Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard X using the Charizardite X, or Mega Charizard Y using the Charizardite Y, while Altaran Charizard can Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard S using the Charizardite S.
Altaran Charizard and Mega Charizard S were designed and sprited by Keileon.

Kantonian Charizard |
---|
Despite urban rumors, a Charizard does not die if its flame is extinguished. Rather, it is the reverse, the intensity of the flame being a show of its life force. |
Mega Charizard X |
The overwhelming power that fills its entire body causes it to turn black and creates intense blue flames. |
Mega Charizard Y |
Its bond with its Trainer is the source of its power. It boasts speed and maneuverability greater than that of a jet fighter. |
Altaran Charizard |
It is exceedingly rare in the wild due to its habitat being limited carefully to prevent its distribution from spreading. This is for good reason, as it has been known to burn entire forests down in its rage. |
Mega Charizard S |
It is feral and savage. Originally discovered in Altaris, this variant of Mega Charizard is thought to be the common link between the two Mega forms discovered in Kalos. |
