Sidequest: A New Rival! is the eleventh Story Quest of the game. It is preceded by Sidequest: Helping a Friend, and is immediately followed by Sidequest: Challenge!.
Completing the Sidequest
This sidequest is obtained from Noro immediately following the previous sidequest. After entering Route 3, Noro will say that he wasn't expecting the player. He will say that he stopped there because he realized he didn't have any potions, so he was debating whether or not to go back to the PokéMart. He then offers to battle you, saying that it will be a good warmup before fighting the Rubina City Gym.
