Annibelle Spruce

Annibelle Spruce, also known as Professor Spruce, is a researcher and the local professor of Shardil Town. Her primary focus is on the intelligence of Pokémon- that is to say, why they obey humans and how they understand commands. She is known to have theories regarding these mysteries, but does not share them for fear of being scoffed at. Many other scientists consider her to be a crackpot.
Professor Spruce was designed by Keileon, written by Keileon and Lord X-Giga-X (prior to 2.7), and drawn by 5P4CEKA7.
Appearance
Professor Spruce has straight, ankle-length purple hair that she allows to fall free as she walks. This is complemented by her dark purple skirt and blue shirt, over which she wears a white labcoat.
Personality
Professor Spruce is known to be cluttered, scatterbrained, and chronically disorganized, but is a passionate workaholic who spends so much time on her projects that she has been known to sleep at her lab. She is professional and friendly with new trainers, but may become more casual around people she is familiar with. Despite her scattered nature, she is a brilliant scientist and programmer.
According to other characters, Professor Spruce likes flowers and plants. Her aides often grow impatient with her cluttered habits, but understand that it's just the environment that she works best in.
In the Game
The Professor beckons the player and rivals to come to Shardil Town, where she offers some exposition, items, and the starter Pokémon.
Professor Spruce can be called via the PokéBit at any time to have her evaluate the player's Pokédex and tell the player at which level Pokémon will stop obeying in battle.
Pokémon
Professor Spruce is not shown to train any Pokémon for herself, but does give Jordan, Mary, and Rhodie their starter Pokémon. The starters that she provides to the protagonist and rivals include Eevee, Mienfoo, and Solosis, but she states that she gave Zoltan an Axew at one point.
However, Professor Spruce does appear to have a pet Vileplume in her house.
