Story: Stop on By, Sidequest: A Special Delivery

Ophrys is a Poké Ball smith who lives in Amaris City in the Altaris region. He is also known to be a strong Trainer.

Ophrys was designed and written by Lord X-Giga-X.

Appearance

Ophrys is fair skinned, and has dark yellow eyes brown hair with a streak of yellow. He wears a purple headband, a purple gi, and dark purple shoes.

Personality

Ophrys is a friendly person, appearing to have no problem inviting strangers into his home. He is also shown to have a bit of humility when it comes to his craftsmanship.

In the Game

Ophrys is first encountered in Route 6, taking a Blue Apricorn from an Apricorn Tree before the player gets the chance to take it for themself. Rather than give the player the Apricorn, he gives them a Lure Ball and invites them to his house in Amaris before leaving.

Despite his invitation, his house is unable to be accessed upon initially entering Amaris. He is also not seen until the player returns Calico to Café Calico. Upon doing so, he greets them, Mary/Jordan, and Acento, and thanks them for helping the staff. He gets into a brief talk with Acento about Kurt, prompting another invitation to his home.

Ophrys allows the player, Acento, Mary/Jordan and Kaiser stay at his house while he works on a Heavy Ball for Rhodie. He joins their conversation once he's done, indicating the power of Altaris' Gym Leaders. He then wishes everyone luck on their journey and offers them his help in making them Poké Balls.

Once everyone else has left, Ophrys is able to make Poké Balls for the player using the Apricorns they've collected, requiring a day to do so. However, if the player has a Big Nugget in their Bag, he will offer to convert that into a Shimmer Ball instead. This process will take three days to complete. He will also ask the player to deliver a Love Ball to Margot.

Pokémon

Ophrys appears to have a preference toward Bug-type Pokémon. He is shown to have an Altaran Ariados (which is bug-like, despite not being Bug-type), Crustle, and Scolipede.
